It’s that time of the year again guys! Damn, this year has flown by real quick hasn’t it? I didn’t even have time to properly analyze all the music that’s been released this year. I’m writing this while on vacation so forgive me if this piece seems a bit rushed. Anyway, I think 2016 was a quite an incredible year for music. Although I feel underwhelmed by some releases, generally the music released was stellar. If you’re expecting to find Drake, Rihanna, Beyonce or Kanye West on this list then you’re on the wrong list. I’m only mentioning the LPs that really stood out to me and that I feel came out at significant points of these artists’ careers.
Y’all remember Majid Jordan right? The Toronto based duo (Majid Al Maskati & Jordan Ullman)that featured on and co-wrote Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home”. I’ve also blogged about them a couple of times in the past. I got into their music a little after that single came out. Always found their style unique and a breath of fresh air really. Their two E.Ps “Afterhours” and “A Place Like this” gave us an insight of their smooth blend of PBR&B and Pop.
So lately I’ve been listening to A LOT of amazing music and then I realized most of it was from E.P’s. For those who might not know and E.P(short for Extended Play) is a musical recording that contains for than one single but it’s too short to qualify as a full studio album.
I’m going to review some of the best E.Ps I’ve listened to recently because I think you should all listen to this music which I think is exceptionally good.
